Town Market

A very crowded market day in Guatemala.
You can find all of the seasonal local produce and many crafty Guatemalan items at the town market. Arts and crafts, small electronics, tools, clothing and shoes, meats, poultry and fish, even fireworks year round.

Think of it as a large flea market, or swap meet. There is no sign to look out for, but anyone can direct you to one of it's many entrances. In spanish you can tell them "El Mercado".

It's really easy to lose your way at the town market, everything looks alike and it's mostly crowded during the early hours of the day when most locals will do there shopping. Remember your footsteps and enjoy the culture with a day's dosage of village trading, a great experience for anyone.
